چکیده
We examined the effect of drought-tolerant Bacillus safensis SS-2.7 and B. thuringiensis SS-29.2 strains on response four (133, 274, California Wonder—CalW, Matica) sweet pepper genotypes to water deficiency conditions. Pepper seeds were sown in pots with (treated) without (control) bacterial strain inoculation. After weeks growth under controlled conditions regular watering, drought was imposed by completely withholding watering for seven days. Under normal genotype 274 showed better seedling establishment than 133 CalW, while slowest Matica. Antioxidant enzyme activity treatment-dependent. The best treatment order cope severe found CalW genotype, 133, we determined even faster plant decay during treated seeds. Inoculated Matica did not show different antioxidant According obtained results, concluded that conditions, most susceptible moderate susceptibility detected tolerant genotypes. Our study demonstrates (1) a growth-promoting some selected genotypes; (2) there genotype-dependent activities particular strain; (3) could expect biostimulant application, especially stress

Strategy for identification of Bacillus cereus and Bacillus thuringiensis strains closely related to Bacillus anthracis.
Bacillus cereus strains that are genetically closely related to B. anthracis can display anthrax-like virulence traits (A. R. Hoffmaster et al., Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 101:8449-8454, 2004). Hence, approaches that rapidly identify these "near neighbors" are of great interest for the study of B. anthracis virulence mechanisms, as well as to prevent the use of such strains for B. anthracis-bas...
متن کاملPlasmid patterns of Bacillus thuringiensis type strains.
Practically all Bacillus thuringiensis strains contain a set of self-replicating, extrachromosomal DNA molecules or plasmids, which vary in number and size in the different strains. The plasmid patterns obtained from gel electrophoresis have previously been used as a tool to characterize strains, but comparison of the plasmid patterns has been limited in the number and diversity of strains anal...
متن کاملDetection of enterotoxic Bacillus cereus and Bacillus thuringiensis strains by PCR analysis.
Many strains of Bacillus cereus cause gastrointestinal diseases, and the closely related insect pathogen B. thuringiensis has also been involved in outbreaks of diarrhea. The diarrheal types of diseases are attributed to enterotoxins. Two different enterotoxic protein complexes, hemolysin BL (HBL) and nonhemolytic enterotoxin (NHE), and an enterotoxic protein, enterotoxin T, have been character...
متن کاملGenetic diversity among Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus cereus and Bacillus thuringiensis strains using repetitive element polymorphism-PCR.
Repetitive element polymorphism-PCR (REP-PCR) is one of the tools that has been used to elucidate genetic diversity of related microorganisms. Using the MB1 primer, REP-PCR fingerprints from 110 Bacillus strains within the "B. cereus group" have identified eighteen distinct categories, while other more distantly related bacterial species fell within six additional categories. All Bacillus anthr...
متن کاملTwo novel strains of Bacillus thuringiensis toxic to coleopterans.
Two novel strains of Bacillus thuringiensis were isolated from native habitats by the use of genes coding for proteins toxic to coleopterans (cryIII genes) as hybridization probes. Strain EG2838 (isolated by the use of the cryIIIA probe) contained a cryIIIA-hybridizing plasmid of approximately 100 MDa and synthesized crystal proteins of approximately 200 (doublet), 74, 70, 32, and 28 kDa. Strai...
